MRI Software live with solution for Making Tax Digital
New functionality to help clients meet the requirements of Making Tax Digital (MTD) has been launched by MRI Software. Having been a participant in the beta programme, our central VAT submission service is now listed as a compatible provider by HMRC.
MTD is government initiative in the UK, introduced with the aim of making it easier to record and submit tax information. As part of the drive, from 1 April, VAT-registered business or individuals with a taxable turnover above the VAT threshold will be expected to keep digital records and use software to submit their VAT returns.
MRI’s solution allows users to connect to HMRC systems and automatically report VAT information from within our relevant products. Updates have also been made within these software applications that allow clients to produce the required VAT information, which can either be exported or submitted using the central service.
Dermot Briody, MRI’s Executive Managing Director for Europe, said: “We have a proven track record of ensuring our platforms meet the latest legislative requirements, including tax, accounting and other standards applied by regulatory bodies within the industry. In-keeping with this, we’re proud to announce the release of our dedicated MTD solution – giving users the ability to report directly to HMRC from any of our property management systems.”
