Why I work at MRI:
MRI has been quite an adventure. It isn’t where I thought I would work, let alone thrive, but unexpected surprises are usually the best kind. MRI has a collaborative energy and flexible scheduling to enable me, and its employees, to be successful in every project I am part of. I get the pleasure of telling candidates why working at MRI is the best choice every day, and I am not lying to them. MRI has been so gracious in the opportunities they have provided and created for me.

My favorite MRI memory or experience:
This year we launched a new product that my team was instrumental in. It was exciting! I can’t wait to see the product grow and know that I was there from the beginning, when it was just a twinkle in our eye. 😉

Something I learned in the past year:
I learned that you can teach an old dog new tricks (me being the old dog). Being relatively new to MRI, I’ve been able to tackle areas of the industry I never thought were in my bag of tricks. It’s amazing to have an organization believe in you enough to let you try new things. My role here at MRI is a little different from my previous roles with other companies. MRI gave me the chance. Wanting to prove they made the right decision keeps me on my toes. My industry experience is important to my work, but learning the new stuff is where I have the most fun.

A fun fact about me:
I’m obsessed with numbers, to a point where I count my M&M’s. And as indicated by the M&M reference, working out has never been my thing. In fact, that’s an understatement. Until 2 years ago, I’d never worked out a day in my life. Now, I can honestly say that MRI has changed my life, all because I’m a number addict! As of part of the MRI Vitality program, MRI employees earn points (numbers) to reduce insurance costs (money, something else I like). This interested me when I joined MRI 2 years ago. But then it happened. I got an email from HR challenging me to do a Couch to 5K program to earn more Vitality points. I wanted those points, so I bought some running shoes and hit the road. This year, I’ve completed sixteen 5K races, often carrying my much worn out “I Sweat Blue” MRI towel, I work out with a personal trainer 3 times a week, and I’m training for my first Half Marathon. MRI not only encourages a healthy lifestyle, but they support the balance of work and personal (because both are life), so that I am able to enjoy this fun new hobby, and save some money to pay for all the cool running gear I really, really need! So now, I count fewer M&M and more miles.
