The Voice of the Australian Real Estate Consumer

Every Australian is on their own real estate journey, tenants today are buyers and sellers tomorrow.

To better understand the view of Australians on their experiences with real estate agencies, MRI Software commissioned independent research firm YouGov Australia to conduct a survey comprised of a nationally representative sample of 1,032 Australians aged 18 years and older.

The results are in, most Australians (78%) across all generations have rented (55%), leased as a landlord (31%), bought (47%) or sold (34%) at least one property in the last 10 years. With most Australian real estate consumers averaging seven (7) property transactions every ten years.

What the national survey revealed was that most Australians want one agency for life with three in five (64%) preferring to work with the same real estate agency for all property changes in their lifetime – a sentiment that is notably stronger with Millennials (68%) and Gen X (71%).
