Java Software Engineer

MRI Software is seeking a Java Software Engineer to join our growing payments solution product development team.

As a Java Software Engineer at MRI Software, a typical day might look like the following:

• Applying defined Software Development Life Cycle to deliver high quality, production-ready code to satisfy all functional and non-functional requirements
• Designing codes, tests and maintaining deliverables of high complexity
• Testing and peer-reviewing code for technical accuracy, standards, and functional compliance to the design
• Developing goals and visions of the product and contributing to executing those very goals and visions
• Mentoring, training and developing junior software engineers
• Engaging in leadership responsibilities and be able to explain technical decision to non-technical business partners.

• 5+ years’ experience with programming in Java
• Experienced in creating new and supporting existing APIs(SOAP/REST) created using Java.
• Extensive experience in Java backend coding with knowledge of front end/webpages development.
• Experienced in using Git repository and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experienced in supporting legacy applications.
• Experienced in creating/supporting/maintaining applications consuming large data files from various sources.
• Experienced in Agile development framework and the ceremonies involved.
• BA/BS Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related area, or equivalent years of experience
• Able to use judgment to suggest approaches that optimize among customer needs, business constraints, and technological realities
• Broad-based technical expertise including a strong understanding of programming and architecture concepts
• Experience with direct project involvement and leadership of projects delivering software solutions (enterprise software a plus)
• Experience working with MS SQL
• Knowledge of payments industry is a plus
