OPPORTUNITY:

The Fee Accounting Quality Control manager will be responsible for being a part of a team that focuses on completing accounting services for our clients – public and affordable housing organizations. The QC manager will focus on ensuring that the fee accountants prepare financial statements in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, HUD guidelines and GAAP. QC manager must have (or be willing to obtain) knowledge of HUD and PHA programs including Public Housing, Section 8, Rural Development, FSS, Asset Management, etc. The QC manager’s primary responsibility will be reviewing the financial statements and workpapers prepared by fee accountants for PHA clients. This role will be servicing a branch of MRI, Lindsey Software. Lindsey is an accounting services division that staffs public and affordable housing accounting experts to handle client accounting needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review fiscal year end books for fee accounting clients and provide review notes to fee accountants

• Review monthly books for compliance with Standard Operating Procedures

• Work with Senior Manager and Director to increase efficiency of fee accounting department

• Occasionally teach an in-house class for accountants

REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong communication, organizational, technology and leadership skills

• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) required

• 2-4 years experience in public accounting/auditing or public housing industry

• Public Housing industry experience a plus

• Governmental/grant experience a plus

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting a plus
