MRI Software: Embracing the iPad mini and Other New Technologies
For those of you ‘in the know,’ Apple released the newest version of their popular iPad device today, the iPad mini with retina display. Before you rush off to the store to grab one of your own, I’d like to take a couple minutes of your time to describe how MRI Software will soon be a part of your Apple product experience along with several other phone and tablet devices. In 2014, MRI Software will be upgrading to a browser agnostic platform, which will allow you to access your property management information on any browser you prefer. MRI Software currently is only compatible with Internet Explorer, which can cause limitations if your office currently has Apple computers and utilizes the Safari browser. However, soon you will be able to enjoy using our property management solutions on any browser, including Safari, Google Chrome, and FireFox. MRI’s mantra is ‘Powering Maximum Flexibility’ and this browser agnosticism and improved compatibility will greatly enhance the flexibility of the offering.
Returning the aforementioned latest release from Apple, the iPad mini is the latest addition to Apple’s cutting edge line of tablet and mobile devices. The trend is rapidly moving away from desktop or even laptop devices to smaller and more mobile smartphone and tablet-like devices. Besides being great for games like Angry Birds or Fruit Ninja, which can be essential in either relieving stress or killing time if you are stuck circling the tarmac for hours at a time, many people are using these devices as their primary business device as well. For those of you that are a part of managing or owning a real estate portfolio, MRI recognizes the need to access your property management data on these devices. To optimize the user experience, MRI Software will be utilizing a development strategy known as “adaptive design,” which gives the software the ability to automatically recognize what type of device and what size screen you are using and adjust accordingly. Whether you are using an Apply iPad or a Windows Surface tablet, users will be able to access dashboards, reports and full functionality on their device, making it easy to check on your portfolio performance from anywhere.
Technology continues to advance more rapidly than ever, whether you’re an Apple fan or prefer another brand, I hope this article has effectively illustrated that even property management companies need to be cogniscent of where technology is headed and what people are using to interact with their businesses. MRI Software recognizes the need to be able to perform on these emerging platforms and that is why you will see exciting enhancements to the MRI Software platform in 2014 and beyond!
