Retail parks, however, proved more resilient recording a modest uplift which likely reflects their convenience, accessibility and ability to perform when conditions deteriorate.<\/span><br \/>\nUS Benchmarks<br \/>\n<span data-teams=\"true\">As weather conditions worsened, footfall in U.S. downtowns fell sharply last week compared to the week before meanwhile shopping malls benefitted from a modest uplift as shoppers sought convenience and sheltered destinations for their shopping needs. The week started on a positive note for shopping malls with visits rising by double digits on Sunday and Monday coinciding with Martin Luther King Day; a federal holiday in the U.S.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-teams=\"true\">Compared to 2025, foot traffic remained resilient in downtowns with visits rising however malls witnessed a modest decline. The contrast between downtowns and malls highlights a clear pattern: when weather conditions deteriorate, convenience typically tends to win.
