MRI has an outstanding opportunity in the London office for an ambitious individual with a blend of Horizon technical skills, commercial awareness and customer service skills.

The preferred candidate will be a responsible for working with colleagues and clients to develop technical estimates and enhancement requests, as well as work with the existing GPS Technical Teams to deliver on client commitments which will be a blend of technical deliverables and functional consultancy.  It is expected that the consultancy aspects of the role will be mostly technical in the first instance i.e. development either in the form of writing new areas of functionality or adjusting existing deliverables.

 

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills, knowledge & experience:
• Good practical knowledge of the Horizon application and major business processes
• Good all round analysis and technical skills: SSIS, PL/SQL, and ideally also SSRS and .NET/forms development
• Ability to provide detailed estimates for enhancement requests
• Excellent communication & time management skills
• Commercial awareness
• Experience of the full software development lifecycle, for example the need for project management and a robust approach to quality and testing

The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting agreed GPS business targets.  The individual must also be organised, assertive and able to interact professionally and confidently with clients and fellow team members in a high-energy environment.

The role consists of a mix of internal and client facing tasks and the preferred candidate is expected to maintain a high level of professionality, commercial awareness, and client service skills.

The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to learn other products and services offered by MRI.  Whilst the initial focus of this role will be Horizon, the plan is to expand the role to incorporate other products in the future.

Responsibilities

The role has a broad range of responsibilities all targeted at delivering business benefit to clients.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following however it is recognised that different expertise can be brought to this role in terms of previous experience and specialisms may be gained over time.
• Maintain and build excellent client relationships
• Maintain and build excellent relationships with internal customers such as account managers and directors within GPS and elsewhere
• Conduct business analysis & business process development
• Undertake solution design workshops to confirm customer requirements (be this remotely or face-to-face) and write specifications
• Create commercially sound client proposals
• Develop and deliver technical assignments
• Data manipulation, import and extraction using a working knowledge of Horizon development tools
• Report building & interface development
• Assist account managers and GPS team members with presales consultancy, should this be required
• Follow internal processes, including appropriate & timely updating of internal systems
• Undertake company projects as directed by management
• Maintain a good working knowledge of company products
