The Project Manager is a key member of the Manhattan Occupier Professional Services Team, leading the implementation of Manhattan products for our clients. The project manager is accountable for a client’s implementation of MRI products and plays a leading role in the success of the project. The Project Manager works closely with the Consulting, Operations and Finance teams to ensure that the projects are delivered on budget and timescale to a satisfactory level of quality. 

The role requires a strong emphasis on people management – how you manage and organise people is just as important as having credible IT Project Management skills. This includes driving our teams performance as well as handling our clients at all stages of the project. 

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of project management in the context of software implementation, including budget and change control, and how projects interact with the software development lifecycle. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Project Manager is accountable for client solution implementations and will lead and/or participate in the following activities. 

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget 

  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress and to share with clients and other staff members 

  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility 

  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques 

  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques 

  • Act as first point of contact for project issue resolution, and report issues and escalate to senior management as needed 

  • Manage the relationship with the client, key stakeholders and third parties/vendors. 

  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks 

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation 

  • Work with the Resource Manager and Consulting Team Lead to coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to ensure projects are staffed and tasks delegated  appropriately 

  • Accurately forecast monthly invoicing and project expenses 

  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project 

  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals 

  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis 

  • Use and continually develop leadership skills 

  • Travel as required (expected 20%) 

  • Perform other related duties as assigned 

 

REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Strong background of successful Project Management and delivery (3-5 years) 

  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills 

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II or similar certification is a plus 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study also beneficial 

  • Demonstrated experience implementing software solutions 

  • Strongly confident within Software development lifecycle 

  • Decision Making 

  • Forecasting and Management of Financial Resources  

  • Resource Management, Time Management 

  • Willingness to travel 

  • Strong initiative to solve problems
