For more information please <\/strong><a tabindex=\"-1\" title=\"https:\/\/mrisoftware.com\/news\/mri-software-acquires-qube-global-software-leading-uk-based-provider-property-facilities-management-solutions\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mrisoftware.com\/au\/news\/mri-software-acquires-rockend-property-strata-management-software-australia-new-zealand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong> read the press release<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In New Zealand, you are required to rollover your financial year on April 1st to include all transactions on your bank statement up to and including 31st of March.\u00a0\u00a0For a straightforward and stress-free EOFY, we recommend following the steps below.\u00a0 Take note that your steps will slightly vary depending on if you charge your fees in the current or in the next financial year.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 560px; display: block; margin: 0px auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mrisoftware.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/06\/NZ-EOFY-Steps.png\" alt=\"NZ-EOFY-Steps\" width=\"560\" \/><\/h2>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"font-size: 30px;\">Charge Fees<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Before charging the I&amp;E Fee, you need to have set this up in Property Tree and added to your Ownership\/Properties.\u00a0 If you haven&#8217;t done so yet (or haven&#8217;t created one in the previous financial year),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/propertytree.freshdesk.com\/support\/solutions\/articles\/225767-i-e-statement-fee-nz\" rel=\" noopener\">click here<\/a>\u00a0for a step by step guide.<\/p>\n<p>Once your fees have been set up, the <strong>manual fee<\/strong> MUST be charged first so that it can be paid during your March EOM, and therefore be recorded in the current financial year.<\/p>\n<p>If you will be charging fees the next financial year, you can now proceed to the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #464b4f;\">EOM process<\/span>\u00a0after set up.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Charge the Manual Fee:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Go to the &#8216;Managements&#8217; section of the main menu on the left-hand side of your dashboard<\/p>\n<p>2. Find the \u2018Fees and Payments\u2019 section and then select the \u2018Charge Fee\u2019 option<\/p>\n<p>3. Tick the &#8216;Property Fee&#8217; box, then select \u2018Income &amp; Expenditure Fee\u2019 from the drop-down menu, click \u2018Add fee\u2019, and then \u2018Select All\u2019. Your screen should then display all properties, enabling you to delete or edit any fee amounts as required.<\/p>\n<p>4. Click &#8216;Charge&#8217; to complete<\/p>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"font-size: 30px;\">Complete March End of Month<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Process your March EOM as you would any other EOM. In New Zealand, you are required to roll over your financial year on the 1st of April.<\/p>\n<p>To make sure you provide the correct information to your owners, we recommend that you receipt into Property Tree <strong>all the transactions<\/strong> in your trust account <strong>up to and including the 31st of March<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>1. On the 1st of April, go to the \u2018Trust &amp; Reports\u2019 &gt; select \u2018Trust Management Tasks\u2019 &gt; select \u2018Close Period\u2019 option.\u00a0 You will need to <strong>enter the date as the 31st of March<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>2. Select this as the final period of the financial year<\/p>\n<p>3. Complete your EOM steps as you normally would<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 30px;\"><strong>Generate Income &amp; Expenditure Statements<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>1. Go to the \u2018Managements\u2019 section of the main menu on the left-hand side of your dashboard, \u2018Ledgers &amp; Reports\u2019, and then select the \u2018Income &amp; Expenditures Reports\u2019 option<\/p>\n<p>2. You will then need to select the date range. Either select individual ownerships or send to all<\/p>\n<p>3. Sending the statements to owners &#8211; Owners will receive an email notification letting them know that their statements is available to view from their portal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you charge the fee in the next financial year, this is the time the fee will be charged.<\/strong> The fee will be paid during the next EOM in the new financial year, and be recorded on their next Income &amp; Expenditure statement.
