According to KSI, the need for an easy-to-use, seamlessly integrated solution was the key factor behind KSI’s decision.

“We had been using Timberline for accounting and Rent Roll at the property level,” explains KSI. “Using two systems meant data had to be keyed twice. There was no effective integration. Along with room for error and decreased productivity, this meant no real-time information. We wanted minute-by-minute updates. Instead we were faxing regional reports by period. It wasn’t very 21st century. We were ready to move forward.”

A long list of criteria went into KSI’s search for a new system. “We were looking for simplicity,” says KSI. “Our new solution had to be easy to use at the property level. The data we receive regionally is only going to be as good as the data entered at the site. If the system is difficult, that data won’t be entered. A quick training curve was also crucial. Obviously, an intuitive package was important to achieve these goals and IRES has that.

“In addition, the new solution had to be complete and fully integrated,” KSI continues. “We did not want any separate pieces or interfaces. We wanted one solution, and IRES provided that for us,” says KSI. “From an accounting perspective, we were also looking at things like job costing and the ability to manage multiple general ledgers.

“In the end, we liked how everything flows together in IRES. And we liked the simplicity of the system,” KSI says. “IRES' NetSource solution was our choice for these reasons.”
